This is the year of so many new beginnings and adventures that Paul and I will share together. After the wedding we enjoyed a wonderful 2 week honeymoon; we spent one week in Virginia and one week in Costa Rica. It was the perfect combination of a relaxing week with an adventurous one. In Virginia, we went to Washington D.C. for a day and did a 3 hour bike tour of the city which gave us the opportunity to see all the big monuments and buildings. It was really cool! We also went roller blading, hiking and so much more. In Costa Rica, we went on a hike through the rainforest at the bottom of an active volcano, soaked in thermal hotsprings, soared through the tree tops on zip-lines, sailed across the ocean to a private island on a catamaran and snorkelled amongst hundreds of beautiful tropical fish. The highlight of our trip was canyoning and rapelling down 200 ft waterfalls in the jungle. It was the most exhilarating adventure we've ever been on and we loved every single moment of it. ALSO!! We got to feed monkeys!! Now, if you know me... this was an absolute dream come true! These creautres are so adorable; they would come down from the trees, peer into my eyes and lift the fingers of my hand to reveal some tasty watermelon. Costa Rica is a beautiful country with gourgeous landscapes, very hospitable people and tons of crazy adventures!
After an incredible honeymoon we were definitely looking forward to returning home to our new apartment. We've pretty much settled in now, and we love it here! I've started back to school and am really enjoying my classes so far. Paul has started a full time job working for a local catering company and he's really liking it thus far too. As summer leaves, and fall approaches we anticipate many more new beginnings that we will soon share.
